Texting Phone Number Functions

Overview

Depending on the type of phone numbers you are utilizing in Mongoose, the way that contacts interact with those numbers will vary. This article will explain the different phone number and voice forwarding options.

This article will cover:

  • Virtual numbers and voice forwarding
  • Text-enabled landlines and voice forwarding

Virtual Number With Voice Forwarding

1. Texts sent from the Mongoose web app or mobile app will come from your virtual number; that is what contacts will see on their phones.

3. Calls placed to your virtual number (when voice forwarding is set up) will show your virtual number on the contact's caller ID (i.e., contacts never see the actual forwarding number). 5. Currently, you cannot place calls from within Mongoose.

Virtual Number Without Voice Forwarding

3. Calls placed to your virtual number (when voice forwarding is set up) will immediately connect to a recorded message indicating that the number is not set up for voice calls.

Text-Enabled Landline Number With Voice Forwarding

3. Calls placed to your text-enabled landline number (when voice forwarding is set up) will show your text-enabled landline number on the contact's caller ID (i.e., contacts never see the actual forwarding number).

Text-Enabled Landline Number Without Voice Forwarding

1. Texts sent from the Mongoose web app or mobile app will come from your text-enabled landline number; that is what contacts will see on their phones.

3. Calls placed to your text-enabled landline number will show your text-enabled landline number on the contact's caller ID.
